My Favorite Makeup On the Road
🚨ALERT🚨I’m the single most unqualified person on the internet to be providing makeup, or skin care advice, but here we are.
A simple look with my favorite products
I like getting a deal so most of the products I’m showcasing today are affordable and easy to find.
I buy most of them at Target or CVS (depending on which one is having a sale 😉).
Elf is my favorite line as the value is all around strong –– nice product for a great price.
Lipstick Arsenal
I’m sharing my makeup tips because I’ve heard some people find makeup intimidating, or perhaps uninteresting.
As you know, I find clothing interesting, but I want my face to look as fabulous as my outfit. The two must match in order for me to feel as Clothing Confident as I want to feel.
Can you relate?
So, I present to you a makeup look I wear a lot on the road.
It’s pretty much my go-to, and the only elements that change are 1) my lip color (something more muted for the daytime/playdates), 2) the eyeliner, that’s for special occasions, and 3) the eye shadow and how dark I go.
Everything else is standard operating procedure.
My Daily Go-Tos, In One Place
All together, these products total to ~$110. Some individual PRODUCTS cost that much!
My favorite products, in order of how I put them on
[MAKE SURE YOUR FACE IS CLEAN AS A WHISTLE. That means 0 makeup on/under your eyes.]
$11 - Facial Mist | Thayers Facial Mist Rose Petal - I spray it on my face before I apply foundation. Does it do anything? I have no idea, but it makes my skin feel good.
$40 - Facial Primer | Becca Primer - You don’t HAVE to use this, but I’ve found that it’s really helpful. I searched high and low for a good primer and this is the one I finally landed on. Elf has a best seller that I’ve heard is great ($8).
$8 - Foundation | Maybelline FIT Me! Matte + Poreless (I’m #115)
$8 - Concealer | Elf Camo Concealer - I use the concealer on my eye lids as an extra primer to keep the eye shadow on, in addition to dark spots on the face. I go a shade lighter than my normal foundation to add a highlight.
$4 - Blush - Elf monochromatic multi-stick (apply with your fingers)
$10 - Eyes Part I | Elf mad for Matte Nude Mood - I use this one when I want to get a little fancy (maybe some blue in there!?).
$14 - Eyes Part II | Sephora Eye love - this basic palette is perfect for day-to-day.
$2 - Eyebrow Pencil | Elf Brow Pencil - I couldn’t find the same version I used, but this’ll do wonders.
$9 - Mascara | Maybelline Mega Plush Volume Mascara
$6 - Final Powder | Elf Perfect Finish HD Powder, apply after you’ve applied eyeshadow, but before mascara.
$4 - Bronzer | Elf Bronzer - couldn’t find the same one, so I found this Elf version.
$8 - Lipstick | Revlon Matte Lipcolor - cult favorite.

If I’m ever feeling bored with my makeup selection, I go to TJ Maxx and browse their selection of make up products and bring a few into the circulation. You never know what you’re going to find, but one thing’s for sure, you know it’ll be affordable.
